The choir holds to the value of ‘music that matters.’ Embedded in this is are the following components: recognition of the positive impact music has on an individual’s wellbeing; performing quality music; an ethical approach to making music - ensuring employed artists are paid fairly and music is sourced appropriately; and making a practical contribution the communities we perform in (notably the charity Communify)
Each year the choir hosts a number of concerts, including: two charity concerts and a Christmas Carols concert. With an advocacy and appreciation for community arts, we cherish the opportunity to collaborate with other ensembles and artists; having had a number of guest individuals perform at concerts and combined concerts with the Pro Musica Singers. In 2019 and 2020, Scomodo Voce Singers participated in Theatreroo’s production of Macbeth: the Contemporary Rock Opera and Boadicea: the Celtic Opera, acting as the ensemble chorus.
In 2022 we were proud to present the Queensland premiere of ‘Considering Matthew Shepard.’ The third time this work was performed in the country, it was received with great acclaim.
